What to Pack for your Hospital Bag (Singapore)

When we were deciding what to pack in our hospital bag, we saw tons of checklists online. Some are excessive, others look like they are not for Singaporeans. We have tailored one for Singapore parents, based on firsthand experience and what we found useful for us!

Items that are so important but often left out

• Syringes - this is so important because they help you suck and store your precious colostrum. Please remember the syringe caps too!

• Nipple cream - breastfeeding can lead to abrasion, so bring along your nipple cream. Getting those that are safe for baby consumption is highly recommended, so you do not have to keep wiping them off before feeds

• Financial form - this is Papa's duty. Go to the finance centre while Mama is still in early labour to sort out how much CPF you want to use for the bill.

  • Pro-tip! Before Mama discharges and while you still have the ward, go and settle the bill so you do not have to carry the baby while waiting to foot the bill
